The Westborough Education Foundation and the Westborough Fine Arts Department are pleased to announce
the winners of the “Westborough Remote Learning” design contest.
The logo designs were created by 5th Graders from the full time remote learning model at Mill Pond School. The Fall 2020 design theme was “What Represents Westborough Remote Learning?” These students, between the ages of 10-11 years old, spent weeks drafting designs and refining their artwork. Almost one hundred students participated in the contest, each submitting a design and participating in discussions about education reform, technological innovation, and the importance of community engagement. Students voted on the designs which were narrowed down to 10. The winners each received shirts and sweatshirts with their own art designs printed on them, funded by a Westborough Education Foundation Grant. The three finalists were Sian Sreejesh, Brayden Savoie, and Nick Brainerd. Nick Brainerd also won a recent art contest in his age group for a local organization, formed in October 2020 “Zero Waste Westborough,” whose mission is to educate residents and to promote the reduction of waste in Westborough.
